Welcome

Our Crew's Mission Statement

To teach outdoor, social, & life skills while having fun and exploring the world.

Venturing Crew 396 is all about high adventure! Our crew is sponsored by Belin Memorial United Methodist Church in Murrells Inlet, SC; we are a part of the Black River District of the Coastal Carolina Council of the Southern Region of the Boy Scouts of America. Our Crew has been servicing youth and the community since 2001.

Our program is planned and executed by youth under the guidance of adult advisors in accordance with our Bylaws. As such, our program is always changing to be what our youth want it to be. In the past we have gone backpacking (Glacier National Park, White Mountains NP, Philmont, Pisgah, Foothills Trail, and more), sailing (Chesapeake High Adventure Sailing Experience, Hobie Cat racing off Garden City Beach, Sail-o-ree), kayaking (Wambaw, Little Pee Dee, Lumber, Murrells Inlet), rock climbing (Table Rock, Crowders Mountain, James Island, and more), white water rafting, camping and more. We also volunteer at local events and conduct conservation projects.

Venturing Oath

As a Venturer, I promise to do my duty to God,

and help strengthen America,

to help others,

and to seek truth, fairness and adventure in our world.

Let's Go Camping!

For any overnight activity, you'll need a Activity Consent Form (aka Permission Slip).

You'll also need an up-to-date Medical Form on file (see Documents and Forms page for details on which Parts are required).

Not sure what to pack? See our Packing Lists on the Documents and Forms page for ideas, but remember always use your judgement when packing -- you don't need a kayak to go skiing.
